Meet AriesDragonGirl New addition to Mom Photographer and Co

Hi and Hello

Hey fellow adventurers of the internet!

Welcome to the wonderland that is the online universe—full of endless possibilities, exciting discoveries, and yes, a hint of danger! It’s not just a place for mindlessly playing games or binge-watching videos; it’s a tool for learning and connecting with amazing people. As a homeschooler, the internet is practically my second home, and guess what? My mom just introduced me to a new and super cool way to use it—blogging! She kicked off this blog back in the day, but life got a bit too busy for her as a small business owner. So, after putting some thought into it, she handed over the reins to me and my older sister to keep the blog vibes alive!

Now, buckle up for this wild ride of learning new things, having epic adventures, and meeting fantastic people across the web! Let’s start by chatting about my loves and dislikes.

I love books!

First and foremost, let’s talk books. I’m a bookworm, and reading for me is like stepping into a world of endless possibilities. Picture a library with EVERY book ever written (that’d be a BIG library) you’d be able to find a book for literally ANYTHING you could think of!

My favorite genre? Fantasy-fiction with a splash of humor and mystery. Currently obsessed with the “Wings of Fire” series by Tui T. Sutherland. We’ll get into that more in future posts.

My favorite school subjects!

Now, history buffs, where you at? I’m all about those world-changing events—WWI, WWII, the Revolutionary War—the whole shebang.

Reading and history are my power duo, but I also dabble in science, especially astronomy and biology. Math’s chill, but it’s not stealing the spotlight.

Roller skating rocks!

Let’s roll into hobbies, shall we? Roller skating is my JAM since I was a teeeny 8-year-old. I recently tried out rollerblading and might be low-key hooked.

And more!

Sketching? Yup, it’s a vibe. Not a master artist or anything. But sometimes it’s nice to pick up a pencil and a paper and just draw.

And writing? Oh, it’s not just a hobby; I’m on a mission to turn it into a full-blown career.  I love writing short stories, and coming up with characters and all that fun stuff! Sometimes, I write down some of the ideas that pop into my head and make a short story kinda thingy.. I just reeeaally like writing.

And then there are those random things that bring me joy—exploring the wilderness, gaming, baking and a bunch more.

Now you’re officially an AriesDragonGirl expert! But hey, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Dive into my other posts to uncover the rest of the AriesDragonGirl magic! Bet you found a few things we have in common, or who knows, maybe you’re my long-lost twin with the same loves and quirks!

Stay tuned for more adventures, fellow internet explorers! 🚀🌟

    • Thank you! My up coming post will be about Zombelina and I participating in the Sonora Christmas Parade! What are some other things you might be interested in reading?

  1. Reading! Is there ever an end to it? I usually have about 3 (hard copy) books I’m reading along with one on kindle. At least one of these books is usually history. Always gives me something to start a conversation with! One of my nieces is a writing professor at a local college, but I’m still too scared to show her my writing ha ha ha. Don’t be that way! And drawing!! What can I say/ My house is festooned with art work of mine. It’s a lot cheaper than buying art! 🙂 Keep on keeping on. The journey is the destination.

    • Yes! History is FILLED with so much interesting times and cultures and all that awesomeness, I don’t think I could ever get bored of it. What do you like to write about? And what are some things you enjoy drawing?

      • Hmmm, well my writing has usually been poetry, but about a decade ago I wrote a short novel. Kinda just got the urge to see if I could. My art always has gone back and forth between things that were purely abstract and pieces that are figurative. I like still lifes, like bowls of fruit and stuff like that. It interesting the play of light just across some apples and bananas. Yes, history is not boring, just some of the people who write about it.

        • Thats fascinating! I very much like poetry. I was thinking I might make a poem for my mom! I’m curious, what was your novel about? And yeah, it’s interesting to see how light effects certain things. Whether it’s a painting, landscape, or a flower. My mom lets me use this little camera, and honestly, the feeling the pictures give you is all about the lighting. History does, indeed, always depend on the person telling it. Finding the right narrative voice can make a big difference.

          • My novel? They say (I’m not quite who “they” are.) that every author’s first novel is at least semi autobiographical. I’m a retired teacher, and my novel is about a teacher who teaches and yet learns as he teaches. So maybe “they” were right in my case. And because of all that I’d say that if you are looking for the right narrative voice, start with yours! I’m sure it’s good one.
