Well, I feel a little bit challenged. This week’s theme for Photo Art Friday is: “self-portrait”
I bet, many of you expect of me something great here, but I have been feeling a little (or a lot) under the weather lately, and all my plans for some real self-portraits photo session that I had in mind went to hell…
Today I’ve decided to get a little creative with those few shots I managed to take this week and this is what I ended up with:
In addition I took a few self-portraits for my giveaway that is going on my facebook page, and this is one of them:
oh… and how could I not share the latest news with you.
No. 2 is walking:

Hope everything is going well in your corner!

thank you!
Oh I’m sorry you were feeling sad sickness, I know the feeling. I’ve had a sick one home all week, which makes me sad. I really love what you did with this prompt, so creative as always!
I think, I’m just tired… need one or two nights of a good and long sleep!
I think you’ve done well
thank you for the words of encouragement !
Well, if I was expecting something special here – I sure was not disappointed! Beautiful shots, beautiful edits – you really have thisdown to a t! (And photograph very well, of course… 😉 )
Thank you so much, Anna!
Wonderful self-portraits. I like! Beautiful pictures!
thank you!
Baby walking! Now the fun begins 🙂
LOVE your selfies, Ewa. Proof that all moods and states of mind can produce great portraits. I really like the quadimage.
thank you, Bonnie!
oh… and No.2 is sooooooo proud of the new skill…
Good job, #2! More fun for mom! I wish you happiness this week, Ewa.
good job, indeed.
have a good one, as well!
Great images. Hope you’re feeling better. Thanks for sharing #2’s walking achievements. Such a wonderful milestone and she’s doing well to step along with that towel at her feet. Funny how the balance just isn’t refined enough yet to bend down and pick it up. Too cute!
she is getting there, Linda. Day by day it get easier and easier… we’re in trouble now. no longer one running kid but two!!!
Great shots! Hope you are feeling cheerier today! This is the most adorable lens bug! I want to buy one of those…. did you make this? So cute, and thanks so much for sharing that great little video of those first steps. What an awsome thing to be able to enjoy!
Jeanne, yes I make those and I am planning to have a giveaway here on my blog.
I am in a process of making different creature for the lens, and I bet you are going to love it as well.
Well done. I like that you are not afraid to show raw emotion. The quad piece is very well composed. Congrats on No. 2 starting to walk, now the fun really begins! She’s so cute.
Ida, sometimes it just happens. I try to smile for the camera but then I see the picture and it looks awful. So then I simply “am” while the camera is clicking and although it’s not a very happy face but it’s natural and look way better then the forced smile.
And yes, with the No.2 walking now the fun begins!
I think it all turned out better than you thought 🙂 Hope you’re feeling better soon.
thank you!
love the first shot. It is a very good one I think. 🙂
thank you!
I was looking forward to seeing what you would come up with for this prompt and I was not disappointed, I love the quad piece so much. The video is simply wonderful. I read somewhere that a baby’s first attempt at walking is more like controlled falling! your video shows this so well. Congratulations to baby.
glad to here you were not disappointed 🙂
I think you’re right with the controlled falling. It really looks like that. She is learning how to have more control over it, and it’s just so funny!
Typical isn’t it, the one week the prompt seems to be designed just for you and you are not in a place to really enjoy it.
I love the video, she is adorable and the staggered first steps made me chuckle, I found they go from this to running in a very short amount of time.
Hope you are feeling better soon

exactly!!!
I do like your self portrait, and hope that you are feeling much better now. You have a wonderful day.
have a good one, too!
and thank you!
Oh boy, I love the 4 of YOU! terrific. Love the edit and would like to know your secret to doing it.
If I only remembered exactly what I did to this picture. Lets see:
2 pictures (and 1 copy of each what gave me 4 pictures) put together, moved around and each layer mode was “overlay” if I remember it right. That’s it, I guess.
Your sadness shows in your pictures … you captured the mood in your face and turned it into art … but I was hoping for a little Mom smile when you showed us your lovely, now walking, daughter. Do get some rest and bring back that smiling face … how can you not smile with the little critter on your camera lens 🙂 Be well, Ewa … there are always better days to look forward to.
Andrea @ From The Sol
the smile will be back, I promise 🙂
You knew us. I did expect to see some great self portraits here and I was not disappointed. I loved the cover for the lens. Valerie
thank you! 🙂
Oh, i really like 🙂
I hpoe your face will be shining in a smile for the next selfportrait :
Best whises 🙂
I’ll try!
oh this is fabulous, Ewa!! really like how you captured your thoughtsandfeelings within the 2nd photo. then you got a little more creative and the 4 together is quite engaging. enJOYed the video of No. 2 and her first steps. love how you did it, too. really made me laugh, something so appreciated today!!! xoxo
I wanted to make this movie with more examples of her walking and falling, but it was already late and she got tired and very cranky. It is actually her first day of walking on this movie and I am so glad I was able to capture it.
What a marvellous little film – nothing more proudly than too look at your child’s first step. Of your selfportraits I love the very top one and the last one with the knitted stuff around 😀 You have done such a great job working with filters and all. Thanks for sharing and visiting my site 🙂
Mariane, thank you so much for visiting back. I think your self-portrait editions were very creative!
No.2 is so very proud of herself. You can see it on her face when she walks and look up at us for an approval. Very sweet.
It is true… those small ones are amazingly proud of themselves… Thanks again for sharing that 😀
Ewa, I really like your portraits! We are not always upbeat and that comes from being human and having emotions, and then you are a mom and that takes a lot of energy….Take care!
ps I love the video of your little one..So sweet!
I already feel so much better after receiving so many wonderful comments!
Thank you so much!
Nothing is cuter than those first steps.
And your portrait makes me smile….you captured YOU in different moods and emotions. Proving that we aren’t ALWAYS smiling and happy……it’s ok to be pensive. I really admire that you showed a different side of yourself.
Have a good weekend. Snow expected here, so am expecting a bit of a headache! Drat!
Jan
thank you, Jan!
It is actually good to be in this particular mood, sometimes. It makes me think about different aspects of my life and look at my life from a different perspective. Sometimes those thoughts turn to be very helpful in order to change the drift of my life, sometimes they don’t, though 😉
I hope your headache is gone by now! I know how that feels and it is not fun at all!!!
warm hugs
Something so interesting about having more than one of you… lined up….nice job
I wish I had a few me, to have the job done in less time, although I don’t think that my husband would be very happy about that…
Sorry to hear you’ve been under the weather and hoping you’re on the up hill side of feeling better. I love the shots and the creativeness you put in them. Thanks for sharing….yeah for the new walker too!
I follow you on Facebook too! Thanks for dropping by my blog and for your kind words.
Capture life!
Kathy
Thank you, Kathy! I am feeling way better today, and hopefully it stays that way! 🙂
With such a beautiful model, I think it would be very hard to make a “bad” self-portrait! You’re right about not feeling good–we’ve all been there and will be doubtlessly there again; nothing to do but accept it, feel it, get through it. You’ve made some very good artistic photos from this little bout of misery. Nice you rounded it out with the happiness of #2 walking!
Thank you for you comment!
yes, there is nothing really to be done but take a nice long nap, which I did, yesterday… 🙂
You did a great job! I know the feeling, many warm thoughts to you!
I think we all know this feeling at some point, but this “knowing” about others doesn’t make it easier on us…. anyway… I wish it did!
super self portraits of ‘self’
thank you!
You go Into the black hole of …
“where-the-hell-is-a-few-good-nights of-sleep?- BUT t I am STILL GOING TO BE CREATIVE ANYWAY”
and you always come out victorious. Great shots. I hope you have gotten some rest and I will try to get over and check out your FB page more often. Congrats on #2 walking… I think. 🙂
Teri, I finally took a looooong nap yesterday and the world looked like a way better place when I woke up! it was awesome!
Thank you for your kind comment!
As always, your self-portraits are stunning! (Hope you’re feeling better now.)
thank you, and thank you 🙂
Walking! That is awesome!!
oh, yes… she is walking very good these days!
Love these creative self-portraits!

thank you, Kristi.
I’m going to try the trick with the scarf next time!
I find your self portraits so creative and authentic! And the video of your baby learning to walk made me feel so happy and warm inside . . . remembering back to the first steps of our boys – the world of a toddles gets so wide all of a sudden – they’re getting a Whole new perspective on everything 🙂
Loving the self portraits, never tried that and I love to photograph, sorry you are having sad moments, hope they are happier soon xoxo
Great self portraits, and love both of your “bugs”. The yarn one and the two-legged one. My grandson just started walking and I enjoyed watching yours!
Your self-portrait is beautiful, even though you were sad – you still managed to capture something special and creative. Yes, I relate to the “sick sad” – it’s a horrible feeling. I hope it passed quickly for you! The video of your little one walking was so precious! As always, visiting your blog is a pleasure. 🙂
