I hope all of you, mothers, had a wonderful day yesterday.
Despite very harsh morning, which meant, I could have slept much longer but my husband woke me up VERY early. He didn’t know I had struggled with our Little Princess till 4:30 am. He had planned that trip much earlier and wanted to take me there really bad. At the end of the day I was actually happy he did wake me up even if I was a little mad when he did that 😉
We went to a beautiful garden (Elisabeth F. Gamble Garden in Palo Alto) with so many flower to photograph. All of them were at the peak of blooming stage. Just a wonderful place!
Despite that everyone was yawning…
… and throwing tantrums…
… in general we had a great time:
In such a beautiful place it would be a shame not to enjoy it.
Normally I’m not a big fan of photographing flowers… until I start doing it 🙂
Every single time we go visit a place with flowers I’m a little skeptical. I have the attitude: “Flowers? Again?” but then we get there and I take the camera out and from the start I feel like I’m in a hog heaven. Weird.
They even had something Polish :
And after I fed my soul with all that beauty there was a time to feed my body… with pear gorgonzola pizza.

I absolutely loved the meltdown progression. “Not coming. Lying here” then “leash being stretched out as far as it can without dragging you away”. And yeah, if I’d only had a couple of hours of sleep, I’d have been a total grump.

Those flowers are gorgeous and that pizza looks absolutely DELISH. But what I really love is the pictures of your girls. The yawn a midst the flowers, the tantrum? Priceless!

I feel the same way about photographing flowers. Hate the idea of it, but when I’m actually doing it, it’s so relaxing. Most of my photos are of my kids, so it’s nice when I’m trying to get a good shot of something that isn’t moving!

it’s nice to change the subject of your photographs once in a while – I totally understand you with those moving kids. these days it’s so hard to take a decent shot of my two year old.

Those are absolutely gorgeous photos!! I’m trying to learn how to take pictures…like ones without the heads cut off of subjects and ones that don’t look like I did a spin and shoot. Oy.

not as much as Little Miss E. had when she was born. She looked like a wolf. Seriously. She was more blond though and it didn’t look like she is so hairy 🙂

That garden is some kinda wonderful!, your pictures are so gorgeous. I am like you. I think that I don’t like to capture flowers but once I get going I love it. Some of my best pictures are of flowers. Weird, huh? Lol
