A few tears, bag of love and a shopping card

Those who follow my latest posts know that there is a plenty of newborns and two-year old’s photos around here lately. Do not think that this post is about something different because it’s not. Sorry about that ๐Ÿ˜‰

Our not yet two weeks old already caused a few tears in my eyes.

Last week the doctor announced that her weight lost concerns him a lot. He said we need to start doing something to prevent more lost. The thing is that our Little One is a Sleeping Beauty. It’s so hard to wake her up even by pinching and putting wet cloths on her neck (what I’d been doing!!!). Nothing would work. When she finally did wake up as soon as I started feeding her she was back to deep sleep.

She’s getting better with staying awake for longer periods what really makes me happy ๐Ÿ™‚ I know that many parents would just love to have such a sleeper but in those circumstances we are not one of them.

Scattered Horizons

Because of that she wasn’t getting enough of milk and I started producing less and less… . So the last several days I feel like a milking cow connected to a pomp for most of the day.

But you know what? It looks like it helped. Our Sleeping Beauty still sleeps a lot but is back to her birth weight and yesterday when I saw that it felt like a huge stone fell off my heart (I think it’s a Polish expression for which I couldn’t find English equivalent). I felt simply relieved.

So today feeling happy again I decided to share a few funny shots from our last week photo session.

And at the end I wanted to share a few words about a gift I got from Bags of love (Personalised Christening Gifts). I got it a few weeks ago but had waited for our newborn to arrive to take those pictures. It’s a bag full of great memories and toys. Finally I have a great place to store all the toys our Big Sister spreads all over the living room floor. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised when I got it. It’s really big and the quality of the fabric with the great quality of the pictures made me really happy.

Hope you guys are having a wonderful day. I’m enjoying my afternoon coffee which tastes like heaven after so many months of not drinking it!

  2. Ewa,
I’m so happy to hear she’s back to her birth weight. You must be so relieved! As always, beautiful, beautiful photos. Her eyes (when she’s awake long enough to open them) are gorgeous. So deep and mysterious. What a beauty.
Love the photo bag! It’s awesome.
Love and hugs to you all,

    1. oh, Arline! It’s a huge relief!!! I feel so much better now! She still sleeps more than 20 hours per day but at least thanks to pomping and feeding with the bottle and to Carol Casey’s advices she eats more.
Hopefully in a week or so we will be back to only breasfeeding.

      1. HOORAY!!!!!

Both of your girls are so absolutely beautiful! I am glad she is eating more : ) I know that it is such a stressful time when they are so little! It is hard not to worry about every single thing. I hope things continue to go well!

    1. Thank you for your kind words! we didn’t have any problems with our first kiddo so this time I worry too much, I guess.

    1. indeed, it is a HUGE relief for us to see her doing better ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m so happy!

  7. with parents like you two, the girls hold a fine insurance and assurance of healthful living. big sis has daddy’s eyes, little one mama’s eyes..perfect complementing.
the huge bag is a good teaching tool for playing “pick-up-the-mess” …presto all neat again..no tears, no fuss.
happy motherhood to you! sleep well, mine did not have night time feeding after 2 weeks old, just late eve and early morning..and they have never been sick in their lives.. idid not have a book or any experience, lived in french countryside then.

    1. Nadine, thank you for your words of encouragement! they mean a lot!
You know, our big sister is turning into “a son my husband never had” (his words) ๐Ÿ™‚ and he is happy about that!

Speaking about night feeding: even if I wanted I can’t go without getting up at least once. My body won’t let me. I breasfeed so it’s really painful if I go without expressing milk for more than 4 hours.
I breasfeed our Big Sister for 9 months and for the last few months I didn’t have to feed her at night. I hope for the same with this one.
      Hugs from my corner!
Hope everything is fine with you!

  8. oh I love all of these shots! sooo cute! I’m doing my first ever newborn session this saturday, I’m a little nervous!

  10. SO those little eyes do open! ๐Ÿ™‚
You weren’t kidding when you said she would sleep anywhere you put her. The ones in the bag were just hilarious! So good to hear she’s waking long enough to eat.
