Too early to come out!

… and I thought everything will go smooth this time.

Even with our hospital being very liberal about “natural” birth giving after primary cesarean delivery, and being ask that question (“Which way you want to deliver?”) many times I know, I want c-section again. There is no way I will want to go through a half of what I went during my first labor.

The plan was simple. On given me day I show up at the hospital and they take my baby out. It couldn’t sound any better. It suppose to happen in 3 weeks.

On Monday my contractions started and they were very regular for 24 hours. Yesterday we decided to go in and have me checked. So we went and we spent 7 hours in Labor & Delivery. They hooked me up to the monitoring machine and after 2 hours of observation I was hooked to an I V . That didn’t help. So I lied there for next hour while the doctors deliberated what to do with me.

After that hour I was given a shot which stopped my contractions but I had to be under observation for almost 3 hours after that. I do not remember the name of it but it made my heart beat 3 times faster and my temperature jumped sky-high. I saw weird lights flying in front of me and I just wanted to go home, have something to drink and eat (since I got to the hospital they didn’t let me eat or drink at all), and when I was about to fall asleep they decided to let me go home.

So, we left the hospital with an advice to try to keep that baby inside me for at least one week.

I’m gonna try!

And here I am. No baby, yet. On bed rest with only one contraction today, so far. Today I got up with the hospital wristband and a bandage where my IV was. Last night I was too tired to take those off.

  1. sympathy…first one took 27 grueling hours..second 6, third as fast as it took to get to hospital, holding tight as he was anxious to get outta there..much easier..i am far too chicken to allow a scalpel near my tender underbelly…
sorry you are not ready yet..good things come to she who waits.. you do look beautiful even when exhausted.. must be that mommy thing..sweetness to you ewa.

    1. Thank you, Nadine! The first time I didn’t have any other option that let them cut me. I tried for 48 hours but it didn’t work. Now I don’t see the point of going through the same thing. I just hope I don’t feel so uncomfortable for the rest of my pregnancy, no matter how long it will last. There is so many things to be done and mounths to be fed I can’t just sit and do nothing. I feel very uncomfortable being so lazy 😉

  2. So sorry. But “IN” for as long as possible is the best thing for the baby, even though sometimes it is not the best thing for us moms.

Thanks so much for linking up this week! Good luck in the contest! Your black and white photo makes me want to see more!

  3. Ewa I am so sorry and I am sending you virtual hugs….I know that they want that baby to stay inside of you as long as possible…I went through early labor 4 weeks before my son was due it was tough I was so ready and so was he but we waited until the due date…..keep us posted! Your pictures as always tell so much more than your words…I see the frustration and exhaustion but I also see the beauty and the hope!

    1. thank you so much for hugs 🙂 and thank you for your support. I’m going to try to do the best I can but with already one kid at the house my “not doing anything” plan is not possible. My conractions stopped with only a few very irregular and far apart, though. So I think everything is going to be good.

  4. Niestety nie zawsze wszystko sie uklada jak to sobie zaplanujemy, a wiem cos o tym:))trzymamy kciuki z Lucja za ciebie i Natalke

    1. Elisabeth, I’m alright. Thank you for asking. Our doctor said I need to go with this pregnancy as far as it’s possible even with my today’s contractions. It’s actually very frustrating but I understand her. Oh well… Live goes on 🙂 At least now when I’m boread enough by sitting and not doing much I want to start crocheting again 🙂
      Hugs from my corner.
