I hope all of you, mothers, had a wonderful day yesterday.
Despite very harsh morning, which meant, I could have slept much longer but my husband woke me up VERY early. He didn’t know I had struggled with our Little Princess till 4:30 am. He had planned that trip much earlier and wanted to take me there really bad. At the end of the day I was actually happy he did wake me up even if I was a little mad when he did that 😉
We went to a beautiful garden (Elisabeth F. Gamble Garden in Palo Alto) with so many flower to photograph. All of them were at the peak of blooming stage. Just a wonderful place!
Despite that everyone was yawning…
… and throwing tantrums…
… in general we had a great time:
In such a beautiful place it would be a shame not to enjoy it.
Normally I’m not a big fan of photographing flowers… until I start doing it 🙂
Every single time we go visit a place with flowers I’m a little skeptical. I have the attitude: “Flowers? Again?” but then we get there and I take the camera out and from the start I feel like I’m in a hog heaven. Weird.
They even had something Polish :
And after I fed my soul with all that beauty there was a time to feed my body… with pear gorgonzola pizza.

Have a wonderful after Mother’s Day day, my friends 🙂

WOW – love your pictures! And a peach gorgonzola pizza? YUM!
I’m visiting for the first time from Memories Captured…love the photographs..lovely vibrant colours…and the pizza? Yummm!
Beautiful pictures. And peach gorgonzola pizza? Genius! Thanks for linking up!
I absolutely loved the meltdown progression. “Not coming. Lying here” then “leash being stretched out as far as it can without dragging you away”. And yeah, if I’d only had a couple of hours of sleep, I’d have been a total grump.
ha! she actually just finished creaming and was laying on the ground wondering what to do next 😉
Those flowers are gorgeous and that pizza looks absolutely DELISH. But what I really love is the pictures of your girls. The yawn a midst the flowers, the tantrum? Priceless!
What an absolutely stunning day, tantrums and all!
I feel the same way about photographing flowers. Hate the idea of it, but when I’m actually doing it, it’s so relaxing. Most of my photos are of my kids, so it’s nice when I’m trying to get a good shot of something that isn’t moving!
it’s nice to change the subject of your photographs once in a while – I totally understand you with those moving kids. these days it’s so hard to take a decent shot of my two year old.
Those are absolutely gorgeous photos!! I’m trying to learn how to take pictures…like ones without the heads cut off of subjects and ones that don’t look like I did a spin and shoot. Oy.

don’t worry, Elisabeth. No rush. Hope everything is all right.
Hugs from my corner
My kind of heaven too! The pizza looks amazing.
🙂
Lovely pics of a nice family time! 🙂
These are so pretty!
So many beautiful flowers you captured perfectly. And the pizza with the salad. You were really in heaven.
the pizza made that morning even better 🙂
That is a beautiful place! And I love that topiary bunny!
I love the photo of your daughter laying on the ground, just observing the world! Tantrum or no, it’s amazing to watch them watch everything else go by! Glad you’re up and about and hope number 2 is doing well! E.
Just lovely. Flowers have a way of bringing peace, I think. I cannot believe the amount of hair that baby has on its head!
not as much as Little Miss E. had when she was born. She looked like a wolf. Seriously. She was more blond though and it didn’t look like she is so hairy 🙂
I enjoyed all these photos, thank you for sharing!
thank you for stopping by 🙂
What a beautiful place! I love that yawning picture. Too cute.
I absolutely love your pictures. What a beautiful place.
I love photographing flowers, it’s actually my favorite because it’s so soothing.
it is soothing! It really is!
You did indeed feed your soul and ours with all the beauty you found. What an amazing place, like a dream. Hopefully you can catch more sleep very soon, I’ve spent much time in that sleep deprived place which eventually settles.
all fabulous captures and your rendering is fantastic!
