Cat the Stranger – that’s how I call him. Homeless or just lost. Who knows. He looks like he’s been shaved by some kids just for fun. My husband says he looks normal. I mean, that the haircut looks normal. I don’t think so. He acts like he used to be domestic.
The first time I saw his walking towards me I ran, scared, back to our apartment. He looked so wild. He was waving his tail and meowing SO LOUD. After a while I got used to him and I let him get closer. I have no idea if he carriers some diseases so I won’t let my daughter to touch him or get very close. He is very friendly guy. It’s been about 3 days since we first heard him. He comes around our door about dinner time. Our daughter gets so excited when she sees him 🙂
Thanks to that kitty she finally understood that when we say: “meow” it means “kitty”. I’ve gone through books with her pointing and cats, and saying “meow” every single time, but yesterday when she saw that cat and heard him you could see that “I GOT IT” face! It was sooo funny! Now she says “meow” every single time she sees a picture of a cat.
It’s really great to be able to witness all those little steps she takes to understand the world around her. It’s even more beautiful to observe how she does that, what helps her, and when it happens!
I am not a cat person. If I was that cat would’ve been ours already. I like cats but I hate that they need that litter stuff, and they poop at the house, and that they aren’t so lovey dovey… which for me is the main point you have a pet at the house 🙂 On the other hand I don’t want him to go to a shelter where he might go pretty soon if he won’t go away. He looks so cute and friendly… and… so neglected. I wish I could do something for him…. .

looks like a shaved persian and for the money they cost I wouldn’t think he was just wandering homeless and feral. Must be lost. How sad.
I hope he’ll find his way back, soon. Or maybe somebody who lives here will take him 🙂
He really is beautiful…and looks very sweet. Looks like someone shaved him recently too. Is there anyone new in the apt with a cat?
no. nobody with a cat. there is one lady (from what I know). she has cats, but this one is not hers. that’s for sure.and new residents are not allowed to have pets in this complex.
Wow! I love the shot you have of him walking almost right into your lens. SO cool!
And what a nice Cat the Stranger for teaching in such an authentic way.
thank you so much. I was chasing him with my camera around the property for a long time 🙂 great model!
Aw, he’s definitly been shaved by a well-meaning human to keep him cooler this summer. Why not see if he wants to come inside? We’ve found that the outdoor/neglected cats can (and often do) become *quite* lovey-dovey when you first show them some love. Heck he might change your opinion of cats! And plus it’s never a bad thing to let your daughter get to know a new type of creature… talk about building her character. If nothing else, I do recommend feeding/watering him until you can locate a resource for finding him a foster home. IMO, he’s a keeper. Good luck.

I wouldn’t let him inside. We’ve got doggy that gets toooo excited around cats. In addition I’m little bit afraid he migh have (migh not) have some disease or something not very safe to have around kids. I don’t know where his been… . I would let him closer if I knew he is ok.
Oh! I love watching little ones make those kinds of big connections. Your daughter sounds adorable — and I think that cat’s trying to adopt your family. Great pictures!
thanks so much. he is not here today, so maybe he’s found his home (I hope so). I heard him at 6am this morning, though. lol
Beautiful cat! If I were there, I’d take him for you. I’m a crazy cat lady. :0)
Next time we see him I might consider sending a package to your direction 🙂
Man! I feel like another cat took these photos! I love the perspective you give–beautiful pictures! I can see that this kitty has lots of personality 🙂
thank you a lot for you comment! 🙂
Those ones at the door are so adorable. Glad it’s warming its way into your hearts. Cats can be quite loving and sensitive to you if you let them in 😉 Sweet photos!
Anika, maybe if had a home and big space for him. I would consider taking him, but with our small place… we just can’t! 🙁
The video is so cute. Oh, how I miss those days of discovery.
those moments are so great and heart warming 🙂 love it!
What a fascinating feline subject he is! Looks like he’s from the wrong side of the railroad-tracks 😉 Your shots of him are amazing, though, and I love that a sweet stray is so capable of teaching little lessons to your family.
You know, you *could* just keep him as an outdoor cat — to scare away rodents and such — if you come to like him enough. We have an outdoor cat and he is super-carefree. We feed and water him, and he lays around on the porch. Easy, peasy 🙂
These pics are wonderful! I fell in love with him! I understand your reservations to let him inside or keep him as a pet. Have you sent these pics to friends you know who might be interested? I have a sense he would make a good pet.
Btw, our cat is an indoor/outdoor cat, and he only poops in his litter box if absolutely necessary. He prefers to go out in the woods, for which we are grateful. 😉
Stopping by from The Mom Pledge blog hop…
It looks like there’s a tiny lion staring into the eyes of a giant baby. And they’re trying to decide if they’re foes or friends. So cute. Language development really is so exciting to experience as a baby grows!
