Zen and art of the motorcycle trip to San Francisco

I haven’t been blogging for a while.

Two words:

Battlestar Galactica

and one more:

Netflix

So, now you know why! We are on 49th episode. 27 to go!

but today I had to break this mad circle. because a miracle had happened.

A friend of mine babysit for us. She did that because of bad karma (long story!). So you see… MIRACLE… 😉 Being a nanny for many years (in Poland, and in US) made me very picky about leaving my baby with the strangers… . That’s why since our daughter was born we hadn’t have anybody (not counting in-laws) to babysit for us while me and my husband would go out.

When my friend offered her help I realized how bad I need it, those few hours away. I said YES! Come over, and stay as long as you want.

She did.

Me and my husband went for a motorcycle ride to San Francisco.

Yes,

It was a long, long time ago when I rode with my husband for the last time. I knew it’ gonna be cold. But I wasn’t expecting it to be THAT cold. Because  you always have to know that SF is different. Everything is different in SF! I forgot about it. I forgot that actually I might need an extra sweater or something.

We planned a few things to see and to go to.

Lucky us:

– where Golden Gate Bridge suppose to be we saw…hm… actually we didn’t see anything…

yes, a little bit to your left, and you would’ve been able to see the GGB…

…maybe some other time 😉

– we were bothered by some unhappy (I can’t imagin why, life is so beautiful after all, RIGHT?!) cop. When your ass hurts as hell, you hair looks like you just flew from Chicago to San Francisco on a broom and all what you want is to stretch your legs, the last person you want to see or talk to is a cop who thinks he’s funny when actually he’s not. He should’ve shoved his sarcastic sense of humor deep up his butt…

and YES, I had a helmet, but my hair was so tangled after all!!!

Ok, I better stop complaining.

But wait I have to mention that after that cop to ex-cop face to face interaction my husband lost his sense of humor, too.

I snapped that picture and we were on the road again.

we drove by that nice looking guy

surrounded by fog and…

… even more fog

 – we drove to a restaurant we had planned to eat at

– it was closed.

We sat outside for a few minutes, I took some pictures:

this video:

At the same time I freezed my butt off, and…

we were on the road again.

This time looking for some place to eat (my husband)

to get some HOT HOT HOT COFFEE (me)

Look carefully at the picture below. Do you see the Ocean?!

Hm…

Me neither 😉

The weather got better as we got further in to the City, and I enjoyed it.

With my camera on my lap… or on my husband’s arm 🙂 I had a really great time. Won’t mention here the real pain in the butt, because don’t want it to sound like I’m just complaining about that trip.

I’m not…

But geeze… that pain!!! It hurt so bad… and I knew that we have an hour ride back home in front of us!!!

but listen…

I’m not complaining.

Really!

I came over to look at your Texture Tuesday entry (which was fabulous…I’m a huge fan of architecture shots and am working with a batch of them myself and love how you caught the corner of yourselves in the shot), but I stayed to check out the rest. I love the pictures in the mirror. Such a sense of “place” with those.

Also, we did the Battlestar Galactica Netflix instant queue thing a few months ago…and yeah…it will suck you in and you can hardly pull yourself away. 🙂
